A private security guard for Phish allegedly attacked a stadium worker at one of the band\u2019s NYC concerts, the victim claimed in a lawsuit.<\/p>\n
US Army veteran David Hone was getting ready to join the rest of the venue\u2019s crew to break down the set at the end of the iconic jam band\u2019s<\/a> July 22 show at Forest Hills Stadium<\/a> when Knute Brye charged at him, he said in a lawsuit.<\/p>\n Brye had been speaking with Hone\u2019s supervisor but, \u201cI couldn\u2019t even make out what they were saying . . . the music and noise were so loud.\u201d<\/p>\n David Hone is suing the band Phish and a private security guard over an assault at Forest Hills Stadium. Helayne Seidman for the NY Post<\/p>\n Brye, 59, then began screaming at Hone, 35, and tried to put him in a headlock, he claimed in Manhattan Supreme Court papers. <\/p>\n \u201cI saw Knute yelling, \u2018Go, go, go\u2019 . . . then I realize he\u2019s looking at me, and walks up to me and all I hear is, \u2018I\u2019m sick of thi sh-t,’\u201d he told The Post.<\/p>\n \u201cI was like, \u2018Whoah, whoah!\u2019 and before I even know what\u2019s going on, this guy who is twice my size, 6-foot-something and 200 something pounds \u2014 I\u2019m 5-foot-9, 170-pounds \u2014 he reached for my lanyard and tries to pull it off my neck, pulling me forward.\u201d<\/p>\n Brye scratched him and ultimately put him in a headlock, Hone alleged, aggravating preexisting shoulder problems.<\/p>\n The July assault took place backstage at a Phish concert in Queens. YouTube \/ Larry Rulz 5<\/p>\n \u201cI finally was able to place my hands on his chest and push off of him and put my finger in his face and say, \u2018Keep your hands off of me, I work here.’\u201d<\/p>\n Hone, who got the job just four months earlier thanks to a US Department of Veterans Affairs vocational program, claimed he was later wrongly fired for \u201cinsubordination.\u201d<\/p>\n The NYU grad is suing Brye and Phish for negligence and unspecified damages. <\/p>\n Brye and a rep for Phish did not return a message seeking comment. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"He went off the deep end.
