{"id":880689,"date":"2026-06-20T14:36:24","date_gmt":"2026-06-20T14:36:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/880689\/"},"modified":"2026-06-20T14:36:24","modified_gmt":"2026-06-20T14:36:24","slug":"ride-stuck-at-long-islands-adventureland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/880689\/","title":{"rendered":"Ride stuck at Long Island&#8217;s Adventureland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A popular ride at Long Island\u2019s<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2005\/09\/02\/l-i-death-ride-woman-flies-over-fence-in-parks-second-fatality\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"> Adventureland<\/a> malfunctioned on Friday night, leaving more than a dozen young thrill-seekers dangling in mid-air for hours. <\/p>\n<p>The panic began around 7:30 p.m. when the amusement park\u2019s \u201cWave Twister\u201d attraction ground to a sudden halt, trapping the riders a dizzying 75 feet above the ground, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox5ny.com\/video\/fmc-iru08cbg0kt5flal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">according to FOX5.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>25 riders got stuck on a ride at Adventureland. Facebook\/Edward Marquez<\/p>\n<p>The ride malfunctioned at around 7:30 p.m. Paul Mazza<\/p>\n<p>The East Farmingdale Fire Department and a mutual aid company rushed to the scene and are currently working a rescue operation to bring the stranded <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox5ny.com\/video\/fmc-iru08cbg0kt5flal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">parkgoers safely back down<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cWave Twister\u201d ride at the amusement park came to a halt, leaving riders trapped 25 feet above the ground. Paul Mazza<\/p>\n<p>Firefighters climbed up on a ladder to help take riders down safely.
