PC: #IfThenSheCan \u2013 The Exhibit: Game Changers<\/p>\n<p>VC: #IfThenSheCan \u2013 The Exhibit: Game Changers<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ha\u02bbik\u016b-based marine ecologist and big-wave surfer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ifthenshecan.org\/game-changers\/katie-mcconnell\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"><strong>Katie Mae McConnell<\/strong><\/a> studies the ocean by day and surfs some of the world\u2019s largest waves, from Pe\u02bbahi on Maui to Nazar\u00e9 in Portugal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A National Geographic Explorer, she has dived beneath Antarctic ice and documented marine ecosystems around the world, using science and storytelling to raise awareness about climate change and ocean conservation. Her work reflects how STEM careers can intersect with sports in unexpected ways, both in and beyond the water. PC: #IfThenSheCan \u2013 The Exhibit: Game Changers<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Visitors to the FIFA Fan Festival Dallas at Fair Park will be welcomed by 26 statues serving as reminders that the future of sports is powered not only by athletes on the field, but by leaders in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) who are transforming the game behind the scenes<strong>. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lyda Hill Philanthropies\u2019 IF\/THEN Initiative and the North Texas FWC Organizing Committee revealed the names of 26 women selected for <strong>#IfThenSheCan \u2013 The Exhibit: Game Changers<\/strong>, a public installation of lime green, life-sized 3D-printed statues representing women from 11 US states in a wide range of careers fueling the global sports industry.
