{"id":88141,"date":"2025-07-24T08:15:10","date_gmt":"2025-07-24T08:15:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/88141\/"},"modified":"2025-07-24T08:15:10","modified_gmt":"2025-07-24T08:15:10","slug":"debris-of-plane-with-49-people-on-board-found-in-russias-far-east-report-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/88141\/","title":{"rendered":"Debris of plane with 49 people on board found in Russia\u2019s far east: Report | News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"article__subhead\">The Emergencies Ministry says the plane dropped off radar near the Amur region, bordering China.<\/p>\n<p>A Russian passenger plane with 49 people on board has crashed in the country\u2019s far east, leaving no survivors, according to preliminary information, local news agencies reported.<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief said on Thursday that the An-24 plane, operated by Siberia-based airline Angara, dropped off radar screens while approaching its destination, Tynda, a town in the Amur region bordering China.<\/p>\n<p>Russian rescuers found the fuselage of the plane in flames, the Emergencies Ministry said, and debris from the plane was located in Amur, Interfax news agency reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAn Mi-8 helicopter operated by Rosaviatsiya [Russia\u2019s civil aviation authority] has spotted the burning fuselage of the aircraft,\u201d the ministry said on Telegram.<\/p>\n<p>According to TASS news agency, an error by the plane\u2019s crew while landing amid poor visibility is one of the possible reasons for the crash.<\/p>\n<p>Regional Governor Vasily Orlov said that, according to preliminary data, there were 43 passengers, including five children, and six crew members on board.<\/p>\n<p>The Emergencies Ministry put the number of people on board somewhat lower, at about 40.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-arc-image-770 wp-image-3854086\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/3-WEP-MAP-RUSSIA-AMUR-TYNDA-1753339601.jpg\" alt=\"Russia\" fetchpriority=\"low\"\/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2021\/10\/10\/russia-sixteen-people-killed-in-plane-crash\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Flying in Russia<\/a> can be particularly dangerous in the vast country\u2019s isolated hinterland, such as the Arctic and the far east, where weather conditions are frequently extreme.<\/p>\n<p>While Russian aviation safety standards have improved in recent years, accidents, especially involving ageing planes in far-flung regions, are not uncommon.<\/p>\n<p>In 2021, an ageing Antonov An-26 transport plane crashed in the Russian far east, killing six people. All 28 people on board an Antonov An-26 twin-engine turboprop also died in a crash in Kamchatka in July that year.<\/p>\n<p>The country also frequently experiences non-fatal accidents that result in rerouted flights and emergency landings, usually stemming from technical issues.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Emergencies Ministry says the plane dropped off radar near the Amur region, bordering China.
