{"id":881932,"date":"2026-06-21T04:05:20","date_gmt":"2026-06-21T04:05:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/881932\/"},"modified":"2026-06-21T04:05:20","modified_gmt":"2026-06-21T04:05:20","slug":"popular-antidepressant-recalled-for-high-levels-of-a-potentially-cancer-causing-chemical","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/881932\/","title":{"rendered":"Popular antidepressant recalled for high levels of a potentially cancer-causing chemical"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">(Gray News) \u2014 A popular antidepressant is being recalled for high levels of a potentially cancer-causing chemical.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The recall is for nearly 360,000 bottles of the prescription drug duloxetine, a generic version of Cymbalta.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The FDA said Breckenridge Pharmaceutical recalled the medication June 4 for high levels of nitrosamines, a chemical compound that may increase the risk of cancer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The recall affects duloxetine delayed-release capsules in both 30-mg and 60-mg sizes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.accessdata.fda.gov\/scripts\/ires\/index.cfm?Product=220846\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.accessdata.fda.gov\/scripts\/ires\/index.cfm?Product=220846\">30-mg capsules<\/a> that were recalled have lot code 241180C and an expiration date of April 2027.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.accessdata.fda.gov\/scripts\/ires\/index.cfm?Product=220996\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.accessdata.fda.gov\/scripts\/ires\/index.cfm?Product=220996\">60-mg capsules<\/a> that were recalled have multiple lot codes and expiration dates affected, including:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"list | article-list\">\n<li>Expiration date November 2026, lot code 232311 <\/li>\n<li>Expiration date January 2027, lot code 240316<\/li>\n<li>Expiration date February 2027, lot codes 240317, 240318, 240315C, 240373C, 240370C, 240375C and 240413C<\/li>\n<li>Expiration date April 2027, lot codes 240978C and 241052C<\/li>\n<li>Expiration date May 2027, lot code 241074C<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The recalled medications were distributed nationwide.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">If you have any of these recalled medications, contact your doctor or pharmacist about next steps.
