{"id":883608,"date":"2026-06-21T22:52:23","date_gmt":"2026-06-21T22:52:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/883608\/"},"modified":"2026-06-21T22:52:23","modified_gmt":"2026-06-21T22:52:23","slug":"firefighters-battle-blaze-at-south-el-monte-shooting-range","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/883608\/","title":{"rendered":"Firefighters battle blaze at South El Monte shooting range"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Firefighters are battling a fire near a South El Monte shooting range that sparked Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>A worker who answered the phone shortly after 1 p.m. at LA Clay Shooting Sports Park, 831 Rosemead Blvd., said workers were evacuating all customers from the property where the fire started.<\/p>\n<p>The Los Angeles County Fire Department said on X that it responded to a fire in the nearby Whittier Narrows Recreation Area, and that as of 1:30 p.m., forward progress of the fire was contained at 10 acres. <\/p>\n<p>Multiple fire crews were working to contain it before it reached the surrounding vegetation.<\/p>\n<p>A short video posted on X showed a massive plume of smoke rising nine miles east of a <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/california\/story\/2026-06-21\/how-to-deal-with-smoke-health-effects-of-boyle-heights-cold-storage-fire\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">fire at a Boyle Heights cold storage facility<\/a> that has been burning since Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Fire officials have not released any additional information on the South El Monte fire.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Firefighters are battling a fire near a South El Monte shooting range that sparked Saturday afternoon.
