{"id":885415,"date":"2026-06-22T18:34:20","date_gmt":"2026-06-22T18:34:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/885415\/"},"modified":"2026-06-22T18:34:20","modified_gmt":"2026-06-22T18:34:20","slug":"eddy-cue-jerry-bruckheimer-hopeful-on-f1-the-movie-sequel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/885415\/","title":{"rendered":"Eddy Cue &#038; Jerry Bruckheimer &#8220;Hopeful&#8221; On &#8216;F1: The Movie&#8217; Sequel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/apple\/\" id=\"auto-tag_apple\" data-tag=\"apple\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Apple<\/a>\u2018s <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/eddy-cue\/\" id=\"auto-tag_eddy-cue\" data-tag=\"eddy-cue\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Eddy Cue<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/jerry-bruckheimer\/\" id=\"auto-tag_jerry-bruckheimer\" data-tag=\"jerry-bruckheimer\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jerry Bruckheimer<\/a> are ready to get the team back on the track.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tSpeaking at <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/cannes-lions\/\" id=\"auto-tag_cannes-lions\" data-tag=\"cannes-lions\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cannes Lions<\/a> today, Cue said he was \u201chopeful\u201d for a sequel to the Brad Pitt-starring sports movie alongside Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer, who joined him for the fireside chat.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAs of right now, there\u2019s no official greenlight for an F1 sequel, but it is expected move forward soon enough. That\u2019s understandable, given the movie took $634M at the box office globally.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cI\u2019m really excited because we\u2019re going to come back and hopefully make another F1,\u201d said Bruckheimer as the talk between the two executive powerhouses began on the main stage of the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tLater in the chat, Cue appeared to confirm the plan. \u201cWe\u2019re going to do it again. Hopefully, we\u2019re doing another Formula 1 movie. Everyone wants to see another one. It was Brad Pitt\u2019s biggest movie of all time. It was a great story,\u201d he added. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tBruckheimer replied, \u201cSo many people come to me and say, \u2018Jerry, when I want to show my kids something, I\u2019ll turn on\u00a0F1\u00a0because I feel so good after seeing the movie.\u2019 We try to entertain audiences around the world and tell them a great story, excite them, make them laugh, make them cry, make them feel better when they walk out.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cThanks to Eddy, we had that opportunity to do it, and we\u2019re so fortunate that he\u2019s a sports fan and an F1 fan. Without him, I don\u2019t think the movie would have gotten made.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tCue, who leads Apple\u2019s entertainment and services business as Senior Vice President, was at Cannes Lions to collect advertising festival\u2019s Entertainment Person of the Year Award. Receiving it, he praised his team and said, \u201cI can\u2019t even say this is a dream come true, because I couldn\u2019t even dream that way. I have an amazing team of folks I get to work with every day that have made this all possible. The great thing is we\u2019re just getting started, so there\u2019s a lot more to do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<strong>Apple\u2019s windows<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tBruckheimer revealed he had sold F1 to Apple after the tech giant provided the most \u201ccreative\u201d theatrical window plan. \u201cWe pitched to nine different exhibitors and studios, and Apple came to us with the most creative way: Keeping it in theaters for 45 days,\u201d he said. \u201cAs it turned out, they left it there as long as people were buying tickets, which was really a great experience for audiences, and then it went to streaming and was a big success for them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tCue noted that \u201cyou can\u2019t have hard and fast rules\u201d around windows, and that, \u201cYou have to be flexible\u2026 and move quickly. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe Apple chief added the same rules apply to TV and film. \u201cOne of the things that we try to do is not having rules of how things have to be \u2013 this whole issue of the 45-day window, and whether and for how many shows you put on all [episodes] at once,\u201d he said. \u201cWe\u2019re going to adjust and do the right thing for that particular moment, and so we shouldn\u2019t make decisions ahead of time.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAs for F1, the choice was obvious, he said. \u201cThe 45-day window is up \u2026 and people are still watching [in cinemas]. Just leave it there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tBruckheimer also updated on his other <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/02\/apple-joseph-kosinski-jerry-bruckheimer-ufo-1236296166\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Apple film, a UFO thriller that will reunite the producer with Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski,<\/a> after Cue mentioned it on stage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s kind of\u00a0All the President\u2019s Men\u00a0about what the government has been hiding, [and] what\u2019s been going on with UAPs unidentified anomalous phenomena] all these years,\u201d said Bruckheimer. \u201cWe found these two gentlemen who were working for the government and couldn\u2019t quite figure out what was going on, seeing these anomalies, kept asking a lot of questions, and had a lot of doors shut up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<strong>Licensing content<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tCue also addressed how streamer Apple TV had evolved since its launch in 2017, and why it has never bought library content a la Netflix or Prime Video. \u201cWe didn\u2019t have any knowledge, but we had this belief that everyone was chasing a lot of quantity and not quality, and we\u2019ve always been about trying to be the best, not the most,\u201d he said. \u201cWe wanted to build television and movies a place where the best storytellers, the best creators, the best writers, the best directors would want to come work there and do their best work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cWe did something that I believe that most people told me you couldn\u2019t do, which is you can\u2019t start a movie or TV [streamer] without licensing content,\u201d he said. \u201cWe\u2019ve always felt like it was kind of weird we were going to put our name on something we didn\u2019t help create, so we said we\u2019re going to start with something that [only offers] shows that we create, which meant we had five or six shows when we launched the service.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tHe praised <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/the-morning-show\/\" id=\"auto-tag_the-morning-show\" data-tag=\"the-morning-show\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Morning Show<\/a> stars Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston as the \u201cfirst people to believe\u201d in Apple\u2019s plan. \u201cI thought the show was amazing, but we had to go and convince them, and obviously others wanted the show as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tHe recalled how he expected another studio to land the project, so he called a meeting with the pair and convinced them that Apple TV+ \u2013 as it was then called \u2013 would be launched off of the back of The Morning Show.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tCue also praised Apple\u2019s studio chiefs, Jamie Erlicht and Zack Van Amburg. \u201cI think we have some of the best television shows,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Apple\u2018s Eddy Cue and Jerry Bruckheimer are ready to get the team back on the track.
