Notre Dame redshirt junior Brenan Vernon has medically retired from football, per a source.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 6-foot-5, 300-pounder was a milestone for Marcus Freeman\u2019s first full recruiting class in 2023. Vernon was the first commit in the class and a four-star prospect from Ohio, which was a statement at the time.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Vernon played in four total games during his career and will finish his time at Notre Dame with two total tackles.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In 2025, Vernon had MCL surgery in the spring and then did not see game action in the fall.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman did give props to Vernon for his work on the scout team in November as he moved over to the offensive line to help with depth.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Recently, Vernon has shown his musical talents and guitar skills, teaming up with Notre Dame quarterback Blake Hebert and\u00a0Grace Vrdolyak to play a few shows around the Midwest.\u00a0<\/p>\n
