Proposed Medicaid policies are posted on the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) website and may be accessed\u00a0here<\/strong><\/a>. Below are two proposed policies for which public comments are currently being sought.<\/p>\n

MichiCANS<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) recently proposed revisions to the Michigan Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (MichiCANS) screening tool.\u00a0 The proposed policy, 2526-BCCHPS-P<\/strong><\/a>, seeks to establish requirements in Medicaid Policy regarding the acceptance and use of the MichiCANS Screener and Comprehensive results.<\/p>\n

Individuals wishing to comment on the proposed changes may email their comments to Megan Belonga at Belongam@michigan.gov<\/strong><\/a> by August 12, 2025<\/strong>. Once finalized, the rule is anticipated to take effect on October 1, 2025.<\/p>\n

Flint Water Group Eligibility Criteria Update<\/strong><\/p>\n

The MDHHS is proposing to update the eligibility criteria for health care coverage through the Flint Waiver<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0 As proposed via 2539-Eligibility-P, an individual will need to have been serviced by the Flint water system between April 1, 2024, and September 30, 2025, to be eligible for health care coverage through the Flint Water Group.<\/p>\n
