Melissa Gilbert<\/strong><\/a> is opening up about a major life change amid husband Timothy Busfield<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s criminal case. The Little House on the Prairie<\/a> star, 62, announced in an Instagram<\/a> post on Tuesday, June 23, that she\u2019s leaving her New York City apartment.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo long perfect little one bedroom apartment on the Upper West Side. The last eight years here have been so special,\u201d she wrote in the caption.<\/p>\n

The first slide in the carousel shows U-haul moving boxes stacked and labeled by category, followed by a photo of Gilbert stretched out on the floor beside them.<\/p>\n

She also shared a video giving fans a look at the apartment before it was emptied. \u201cA lot of amazing work was done in and around this city,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n

The When Calls the Heart<\/a> star got nostalgic as she bid goodbye to the city she truly loves.<\/p>\n

She didn\u2019t forget to say her goodbyes to the city\u2019s small businesses and the people who had become part of her routine.<\/p>\n

\u201cGoodbye favorite newsstand, bodega, dance studio, and laundry. Goodbye shoe repair, dry cleaners, nail salon. Goodbye sweet neighbors whom we love so much. And a very fond \u2018farewell and see you soon\u2019 to our favorite city in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gilbert seemingly pointed at Busfield\u2019s legal situation while explaining her next chapter. \u201cI promise we will be back it\u2019s just that right now\u2026..well\u2026.you know,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

Busfield was first arrested on January 13 and was released a week later following a pretrial detention hearing. NBC News<\/a> reported on February 6 that Busfield, 69, was indicted by a grand jury in New Mexico on four counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor, all third-degree felonies tied to alleged incidents in October 2022 and September 2023.<\/p>\n

On June 18, People<\/a> reported that Busfield is now seeking to have the grand jury indictment against him dismissed as he continues fighting child sex abuse charges in New Mexico.<\/p>\n

The West Wing alum, 69, filed a motion to quash the indictment, according to court records. The actor, married to Gilbert since 2013, has pleaded not guilty to all charges.<\/p>\n

In an April interview with Good Morning America<\/a>, Gilbert expressed support for her husband and said she is \u201c100% confident he will be exonerated.\u201d<\/p>\n
