{"id":888712,"date":"2026-06-24T04:47:21","date_gmt":"2026-06-24T04:47:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/888712\/"},"modified":"2026-06-24T04:47:21","modified_gmt":"2026-06-24T04:47:21","slug":"new-har-report-shows-slight-increase-in-greater-houston-area-leased-rentals-in-may","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/888712\/","title":{"rendered":"New HAR report shows slight increase in Greater Houston area leased rentals in May"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\tMore renters in the Greater Houston area signed leases in May as available listings and prices dipped slightly, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.har.com\/content\/department\/newsroom?pid=2236\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">June 17 report<\/a> from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.har.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Houston Association of Realtors<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The breakdown<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The number of rentable single-family homes in the Houston area fell by about 0.8% compared to May 2025, with 54 fewer new listings to choose from, according to the monthly rental market update. Additionally, the number of signed leases increased by 5.2%.<\/p>\n<p>As for average lease prices, costs eased by 0.3% compared to last May, with the average price totaling $2,346 in 2026, the report shows.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the number of days on the market also slightly increased from 39 to 42 days.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Diving in<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Townhomes and condos saw an increase of 8.2% in the number of leased listings and an increase of 0.5% in price.<\/p>\n<p>The number of leased listings was 749\u2014up from last year\u2019s 692\u2014at an average of $2,007, per the report.
