Melissa Gilbert is leaving her New York City apartment<\/a> while her embattled actor husband, Timothy Busfield, defends himself against sexual misconduct charges involving minors.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo long perfect little one bedroom apartment on the Upper West Side. The last eight years here have been so special,\u201d she posted on Instagram Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Busfield was charged<\/a> with four counts of criminal sexual contact with a child under the age of 13 in February. He maintains his innocence. Gilbert continues to support her husband of 13 years<\/a> as he prepares to be tried in New Mexico.<\/p>\n

Gilbert, 62, remembered her good times in New York as she prepared to flee the city.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo many theaters and soundstages,\u201d she wrote on Instagram. \u201cSo many wonderful dinners with friends and nights out on the town.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gilbert said she\u2019ll miss strolling about her Upper Manhattan neighborhood, riding the subway and meeting people on the street. She also got sentimental about local businesses, including her favorite bodega and newsstand.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd a very fond \u2018farewell and see you soon\u2019 to our favorite city in the world,\u201d Gilbert wrote while making clear she and Busfield, 69, plan to return once his legal issues have been resolved.<\/p>\n

\u201cI promise we will be back it\u2019s just that right now\u2026..well\u2026.you know,\u201d she concluded. \u201cExcited to live in our wonderful home upstate full time for a good long while.\u201d<\/p>\n

Realtor.com reported in 2022 that Gilbert and Busfield share a modest property<\/a> in the Catskills. She calls that home \u201cThe Cabbage,\u201d which combines the words \u201ccabin\u201d and \u201ccottage.\u201d<\/p>\n

Photos she posted online Tuesday show Gilbert looking exhausted while surrounded by moving boxes.<\/p>\n
