A fire with visible flames and smoke at a vacant two-story building in the Pico-Union district was knocked down in 16 minutes Tuesday evening with no injuries reported.<\/p>\n
The fire was reported at approximately 8:22 p.m. Tuesday in the 1200 block of South Menlo Avenue, near the intersection of Pico Boulevard and Vermont Avenue, according to Jamie Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.<\/p>\n
The blaze was visible from the first floor, with smoke billowing from the second, Stewart said.<\/p>\n
At least one unit was exposed to the fire as crews worked to bring the blaze under control.<\/p>\n
