Tarrant County Judge Tim O\u2019Hare and Veteran Services Director Thomas Belton highlighted free county resources available to veterans and their families in a Facebook Reel.<\/p>\n

The Tarrant County Veteran Services Office helps veterans and their survivors seek benefits through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the State of Texas, according<\/a> to the county.<\/p>\n

The county says the office works for Tarrant County veterans and their survivors \u201cfree of charge.\u201d<\/p>\n

Free Help For Veterans<\/p>\n

During the interview, O\u2019Hare emphasized the county\u2019s commitment<\/a> to supporting veterans.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur veterans answered the call to serve our country. Tarrant County is ready to serve them,\u201d O\u2019Hare wrote<\/a> in the post accompanying the interview.<\/p>\n

Belton said he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps after high school and served for 9.5 years, including deployments to Kuwait and Libya.<\/p>\n

Belton said the office helps veterans navigate the benefits process, including claims and records review.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll of our services are free of charge,\u201d Belton said.<\/p>\n

He explained that many veterans are unaware of benefits they may qualify for and often have not thoroughly reviewed their military medical records.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo initially when we are meeting with veterans, we assist them by going through medical records. A lot of these veterans have never looked through their medical records,\u201d Belton said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSometimes it just takes a second pair of eyes to say this is what it is when you applied initially,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

How To Get Help<\/p>\n

O\u2019Hare closed the discussion by thanking veterans for their service and encouraging them to utilize the resources available through the county.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe love our veterans. We appreciate what you have done for us, the sacrifices you\u2019ve made and the way you\u2019ve kept our nation free,\u201d O\u2019Hare said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd we just appreciate you very much. And we are here for you.\u201d<\/p>\n

The office is located at 1200 Circle Drive, Suite 300, in Fort Worth.
