Transit detectives in the Bronx are working to find the subway slasher who attacked a man at the Fordham Road station on the 4 line earlier this month.<\/p>\n

Transit detectives in the Bronx<\/a> are working to find the subway slasher who attacked a man on the 4 line earlier this month.\n<\/p>\n Police said the slashing occurred at about 3 p.m. on June 16 at the Fordham Road station, above Jerome Avenue, in University Heights.\n<\/p>\n According to law enforcement sources, the suspect approached the victim, a 24-year-old man, on the Manhattan-bound platform and went on the attack. Using an unidentified sharp object, police said, the perpetrator sliced the right side of the victim\u2019s face.<\/p>\n The motive for the attack is unknown and under investigation. As of Friday morning, police sources said it was unclear whether the attack was deliberate or unprovoked.\n<\/p>\n Following the bloody assault, cops said, the suspect fled to an unknown location.\n<\/p>\n The incident was reported to the 52nd Precinct<\/a> and NYPD Transit District 11. EMS rushed the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital for treatment of what police sources described as a severe laceration; at the time, he was listed in stable condition.<\/p>\n So far, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation. On June 25, the NYPD released images of the suspect, who was seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black sneakers while holding open an emergency exit door near the station turnstiles.<\/p>\n Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts can call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (for Spanish, dial 888-57-PISTA).
