What do we see in the images for Kristen Stewart\u2019s new stoner comedy movie?<\/p>\n

The upcoming NEON movie The Wrong Girls<\/a><\/strong> has officially received its first-look images. It follows the story of two stoner best friends, Frankie (Stewart) and Molly (Shawkat), on a psychedelic trip in a series of mixed-up events that lead to chaos.<\/p>\n

The images reveal the stoner duo overlooking the \u201cbriefcase full of glowing vials\u201d that pans out the story alongside a look at Stanfield\u2019s and McKinnon\u2019s characters.<\/p>\n

The movie is directed by Dylan Meyer. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly<\/a>, she provided more details about her directorial debut film, \u201cFrankie and Molly are codependent boneheads who have spent the last 10 years blissfully in a fog of weed smoke, co-signing each other\u2019s bad choices and screening adulthood\u2019s increasingly insistent calls. Just as Molly\u2019s boyfriend asks her to move in with him, Frankie is mistakenly given a briefcase full of glowing vials of an experimental psychedelic.\u201d<\/p>\n

Other cast members also include Zack Fox, Tony Hale, Geena Davis, and the voices of Seth Rogen and Kumail Nanjiani. The producers of the film include Allison Rose Carter, Evan Goldberg, Alex McAtee, Maggie McLean, Jon Read, Seth Rogen, John Weaver, and Kristen Stewart.<\/p>\n

The movie was inspired by Meyer\u2019s own experience with her best friend and producing partner, Maggie McLean, calling her \u201cthe babe\u201d she couldn\u2019t do anything without.<\/p>\n

She says, \u201cIt\u2019s a love letter to wayward chaotic women and the essential platonic partnerships that prop them up. The Wrong Girls may feature giant squids, Danish hitmen, talking cats, and supernatural abilities, but the emotional story and stakes are pure memoir.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Wrong Girls will release<\/a> in theaters on August 14, 2026.<\/p>\n
