\n\tJonah Hill<\/a>\u2019s upcoming comedy Cut Off<\/a>, co-starring Kristen Wiig<\/a>, is currently awaiting a new release date.<\/p>\n

\n\tOn Friday, Puck News<\/a> reported that the film \u2014 which was originally slated for July 17, the same day as Christopher Nolan\u2019s epic The Odyssey \u2014 no longer has that date because it was viewed as \u201cunreleasable\u201d and is now not scheduled.<\/p>\n

\n\tHowever, a source close to the situation tells The Hollywood Reporter that the film wrapped production in January and that Warner Bros.<\/a> wants more time in the run-up to its release. THR has learned that a new release date is forthcoming. <\/p>\n

\n\tA representative for Hill tells THR that the film remains in postproduction and that its release date was pushed because it wasn\u2019t ready. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe film, which Hill directed, produced and co-wrote with Ezra Woods, follows two siblings, played by Hill and Wiig, whose wealthy parents stop financially supporting them. Hill has previously described Cut Off<\/a> as a \u201cclassic comedy,\u201d comparing it to Step Brothers, Clueless and Trading Places.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019m about to go on a run of just the dumbest shit you\u2019ve ever seen in your entire life. I hope you left your brains at home,\u201d Hill said. \u201cIt\u2019s called Cut Off, and Kristen Wiig<\/a> and I play two dumbass heirs \u2014 rich kids in their mid-40s who get cut off by their rich parents, played by Bette Midler and Nathan Lane.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAdditional cast members include Camila Cabello, Adriana Barraza and Chelsea Peretti.<\/p>\n

\n\tIt was first reported in May<\/a> that Cut Off lost its July release date after it was not included in the studio\u2019s 2026 release slate at CinemaCon.<\/p>\n

\n\tHill\u2019s most recent directorial effort was Outcome<\/a> for Apple TV, which he also co-wrote, produced and starred in<\/a> alongside Keanu Reeves, Cameron Diaz and Matt Bomer.<\/p>\n
