The Islanders have added some defensive depth to their prospect pool.\u00a0 The team announced<\/a> that they\u2019ve acquired defenseman Ryan Healey<\/a><\/strong> from the Wild in exchange for future considerations.<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old was a fourth-round pick by Minnesota back in 2022, going 21st overall.\u00a0 That came on the heels of a solid showing with USHL Sioux Falls, one that saw him pick up 21 points in 59 games after bouncing around and playing in five different levels the year before.<\/p>\n

Healey spent the last four years playing at Harvard and has now exhausted his college eligibility.\u00a0 This past season, he had four goals and eight assists in 34 games.\u00a0 His best year offensively was in his sophomore campaign in 2023-24 when he had 22 points in 29 appearances.\u00a0 Overall, his NCAA career wrapped up with 19 goals and 36 helpers in 120 contests.<\/p>\n
