\n\tAs Prime Video<\/a>\u2019s summer of obsession continues, a movie that breaks the typical mold of romance or a book adaptation is The Devil\u2019s Mouth, a survival thriller. The trailer has arrived, and the latest summer shark movie<\/a> will start streaming on Prime Video July 29.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe film stars Lana Condor, Kathryn Newton<\/a>, Gavin Casalegno<\/a>, Nico Hiraga<\/a>, Tommi Rose and Tayme Thapthimthong.<\/p>\n

\n\tA co-production with Lionsgate, it follows a group of college friends on a trip to Thailand. Underwater camera angles follow them as they jump off a boat into crystal blue waters, but nothing happens there. It\u2019s the cave system known as The Devil\u2019s Mouth where the real danger lurks.<\/p>\n

\n\tThapthimthong (The White Lotus) serves as the group\u2019s guide through the caves that give the film its title. Condor is known for portraying Lara Jean Song Covey in Netflix\u2019s To All The Boys I\u2019ve Loved Before films. Newton just appeared in Ready Or Not 2: Here I Come and plays Cassie Lang in Ant-Man: Quantumania (2023). Casalegno portrays Jeremiah Fisher in The Summer I Turned Pretty. Tommi Rose can be seen in Outer Banks. Hiraga is known for starring in Sweethearts from New Line on HBO Max as well as Olivia Wild\u2019s Booksmart and Paramount+\u2019s Love in Taipei.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe opening to the freshwater grotto looks a lot like the mouth of a shark with jagged rocks that resemble pointy teeth. When Newton\u2019s character starts spotting dead animal bodies floating around in the water and then a cloud of blood deeper down, she realizes something\u2019s wrong. Thapthimthong\u2019s guide pulls a shark tooth from a pair of cracked goggles that float to the surface, and then a bull shark attacks Gavin Casalegno\u2019s character.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHow is there a shark in a freshwater cave system?\u201d Condor\u2019s character rightfully asks.<\/p>\n

\n\tAja Gabel (Sunny, The Staircase,\u00a0upcoming\u00a0Five Star Weekend) and Myung Joh Wesner (Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, High Potential) wrote the script, which was featured on the 2019 Black List<\/a> alongside Leah McKendrick\u2019s Voicemails for Isabelle, with latest revisions by director Jeff Wadlow.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tWadlow produces alongside Thunder Road Films\u2019 Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee, and Wadlow. Carsten Lorenz and Will Flynn are EPs. Scott O\u2019Brien and Pavan Kalidindi are overseeing the project for Lionsgate.\u00a0<\/p>\n
