{"id":90144,"date":"2025-07-25T01:49:13","date_gmt":"2025-07-25T01:49:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/90144\/"},"modified":"2025-07-25T01:49:13","modified_gmt":"2025-07-25T01:49:13","slug":"giant-trolls-have-a-message-for-humans-about-protecting-the-planet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/90144\/","title":{"rendered":"Giant Trolls Have A Message For Humans About Protecting The Planet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WOODSIDE, CA \u2014 Nestled in forests around the world, a gentle army of giant wooden trolls want to show humans how to live better without destroying the planet.<\/p>\n<p>The Danish recycle artist Thomas Dambo and his team have created 170 troll sculptures from discarded materials such as wooden pallets, old furniture and wine barrels.<\/p>\n<p>Twelve years after he started the \u201cTrail of a Thousand Trolls\u201d project, his sculptures can be found in more than 20 countries and 21 U.S. states. (AP Photo\/Terry Chea) <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe that we can make anything out of anything,\u201d said Dambo, speaking from his farm outside Copenhagen. \u201cWe are drowning in trash. At Filoli, the troll Ibbi Pip builds birdhouses, Rosa Sunfinger plants flowers and Kamma Can makes jewelry from people\u2019s garbage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEach of them has a story to tell,\u201d said Filoli CEO Kara Newport. \u201cIt inspires people to think of their own stories, what kind of creatures might live in their woods and make that connection to living beings in nature.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dambo\u2019s trolls don\u2019t like humans because they waste nature\u2019s resources and pollute the planet. The mythical creatures have a long-term perspective because they live for thousands of years and have witnessed the destructive force of human civilizations.<\/p>\n<p>But the six young trolls at Filoli have a more optimistic view of human nature. They believe they can teach people how to protect the environment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey want to save the humans. (AP Photo\/Terry Chea) <\/p>\n<p>Dambo&#8217;s trolls are hidden in forests, mountains, jungles and grasslands throughout Europe and North America as well as countries such as Australia, Chile and South Korea.
