Department of Workforce Development<\/a>, the City of Manitowoc has seen a steady drop in the unemployment rate over the past three months.<\/p>\nIn March, 3.9% of the city was unemployed, but that rate dropped to 3.3 % in April, and 2.8% last month.<\/p>\n
That is also down from the 3% \u00a0reported in May of 2026. Meanwhile, Manitowoc County\u2019s 2.7% unemployment rate is 1.1 points lower than in March, and slightly down from April\u2019s rate of 3%.<\/p>\n
That is also slightly lower than the 2.8% reported in May of last year.<\/p>\n
Sheboygan County\u2019s May 2026 unemployment rate is .2 of a percentage point, from last May and .3 down from April.<\/p>\n
Calumet County saw a decrease from 2.5% to 2.3%, Kewaunee County\u2019s unemployment dropped from 2.7% to 2.4%, and Brown County fell from 2.8% to 2.7%.<\/p>\n
Outagamie and Door Counties also saw a decrease in unemployment from May 2025 to May 2026.<\/p>\n
In cities across Wisconsin, including Manitowoc and Sheboygan, unemployment rates also went down.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
