pulled Tancredi over<\/a> around 9:45 p.m. for making an illegal turn onto Route 33 in Northampton County.<\/p>\n“I was annoyed. I was on my way to pick up a fox that was actively dying, and I had another 22 miles ahead of me. And you know, he had made the comment that how long it’s going to take depends on my cooperation, and I had repeated multiple times that I’m cooperating,” she said of the situation.<\/p>\n
It led to Tancredi initially being charged as impersonating a public servant. Police say she said she worked for the Pennsylvania Game Commission; Tancredi disputes that. She is permitted to work with the game commission but is not an officer. Tancredi said she had the permit in the car at the time but admits that self-made badges hung around her neck may have led to confusion.<\/p>\n
On Friday, Tancredi agreed with the DA\u2019s office to plead guilty to a summary disorderly conduct charge in place of the misdemeanor and pay a $100 fine.<\/p>\n
“I wanted it to be over. It costs thousands and thousands of dollars to take something like this to trial,” she said.<\/p>\n
The PA Game Commission advises against making any self-made badges and says it is reviewing the case. Slate Belt Police say they are using the situation as a teaching tool for officers. As for Tancredi, she says the situation won’t curb her passion.<\/p>\n
