If you made a wish to watch Obsession at home, that wish has been granted<\/a>. Today, Focus Features finally made Obsession available for digital download<\/a>\u00a0and announced a physical media version set for release on July 14. Talk about an out-of-the-blue bash of the skull!<\/p>\n

Written and directed by Curry Barker, Obsession is the biggest surprise hit of the year (unless you read this site, where I predicted it back in January<\/a>). The film follows a man named Bear (Michael Johnston) who wishes for his friend Nikki (Inde Navarrette) to love him more than anything. And it works. The result is one of the most shocking and buzzed-about horror films in recent memory, hence the fact that the very low-budget film has gone on to set multiple records<\/a> and gross almost $400 million<\/a> worldwide so far.<\/p>\n

And, now, you can bring that film home. The release comes with a few special features, which we\u2019ll detail below, but io9 has this exclusive clip from those features with Johnston, Navarrette, and Barker talking about filming the film\u2019s incredible ending.<\/p>\n

That clip is from \u201cObsession Unleashed,\u201d a behind-the-scenes documentary featuring Curry Barker, Michael Johnston, Inde Navarrette, Cooper Tomlinson, and Megan Lawless, as they \u201ccreate a wild horror story out of intense performances and shocking scares. Hear the cast reflect on their most memorable scenes, get a peek at Michael and Inde\u2019s chemistry test that sparked the film\u2019s emotional core, and see how their collaboration shaped the film\u2019s most unsettling moments,\u201d reads the official description.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s also a director\u2019s commentary with Curry, but no deleted scenes.<\/p>\n

Obsession was a fantastic theatrical experience, which is why it has taken longer than usual to bring it home.
