{"id":90368,"date":"2025-07-25T03:47:13","date_gmt":"2025-07-25T03:47:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/90368\/"},"modified":"2025-07-25T03:47:13","modified_gmt":"2025-07-25T03:47:13","slug":"first-turquoise-alert-in-arizona-for-missing-6-year-old-girl","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/90368\/","title":{"rendered":"First Turquoise Alert in Arizona for missing 6-year-old girl"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PHOENIX \u2014 Arizona\u2019s first Turquoise Alert, which was issued for a missing 6-year-old girl last seen at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport earlier in July, has been canceled after she was found safe.<\/p>\n<p>Violet Coultas initially went missing at the Phoenix airport at 10:01 p.m. on July 12, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS).<\/p>\n<p>She was last seen with her mother Sarah, who is 48. DPS said Sarah was believed to have fled Hawaii for Arizona with Violet in violation of a court order.<\/p>\n<p>Around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, the FBI informed the Cottonwood Police Department that the mother and daughter were in their control.<\/p>\n<p>A Thursday update from the Hawaii Police Department said Sarah and Violet were both found safe in Cottonwood by Cottonwood Police Department officers early Thursday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Cottonwood Police took care of Violet until Arizona Department of Child Safety officers arrived to take custody of the child.<\/p>\n<p>Sarah was taken into custody without incident, Hawaii Police said. Katie Hobbs signed <a href=\"https:\/\/ktar.com\/arizona-politics-news\/emilys-law-alert-system\/5705287\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">legislation to create the statewide notification system<\/a> in May. It\u2019s known as \u201cEmily\u2019s Law\u201d in honor of Emily Pike, a teen girl who was a member of the San Carlos Apache Tribe.<\/p>\n<p>In February, Pike\u2019s remains were found more than 100 miles from a Mesa group home she left in late January, according to the Associated Press.<\/p>\n<p>Turquoise Alerts are issued when a missing person is under the age of 65, local law enforcement has exhausted all available resources, the person is believed to be in danger or in the company of someone potentially dangerous, and the circumstances surrounding the disappearance are unexplained or suspicious.<\/p>\n<p>This is an updated version of a story originally published on July 23, 2025.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"twitter-follow-button\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KTAR923\" data-show-count=\"false\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Follow @KTAR923<\/a><\/p>\n<p>We want to hear from you.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0px;\">Have a story idea or tip?
