\u201cWhat you can expect is the largest 4th of July fireworks show in Jacksonville\u2019s history,\u201d said Executive Director of the city\u2019s Sports and Entertainment Office Alex Alston. \u201cWe expect larger crowds because it is America\u2019s 250th and we\u2019re also doing some activation at Riverfront Plaza with some live entertainment, so we expect some more folks than normal.\u201d<\/p>\n
Alston notes that this year\u2019s show will include an additional barge in the St. Johns River. He says the fireworks display will also be longer than in previous years. <\/p>\n
However, Alston says with more people expected, available parking spots will be in high demand.<\/p>\n
The city just released *this list* of public parking locations for the fireworks show.<\/p>\n
The garages are either on the Southbank or the Northbank.<\/p>\n
But are there enough parking spots?<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s not a concern because, again, it is first come, first serve,\u201d said Alston. <\/p>\n
Alston\u2019s biggest piece of advice\u2026arrive early.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnywhere downtown that\u2019s public parking will be available,\u201d said Alston. \u201cI would arrive early, have a plan for where you\u2019re going to park and all that good stuff, and show up early and ready to have a good time.\u201d <\/p>\n
The celebrations at the Riverfront plaza kick off at 4 p.m., and the fireworks show will take place at 9 p.m. on July 4th.<\/p>\n
