It found that, for similar levels of oxygen uptake and heart rate, rebounding generated greater biomechanical stimuli while placing less impact on the body \u2013 and showed that 10 minutes of rebounding could be up to 68% more effective than 30 minutes of jogging.<\/p>\n<p><img draggable=\"true\" alt=\"zoe ball\" title=\"zoe ball\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1217\" height=\"2160\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" style=\"color:transparent;width:100%;height:auto;\"   src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/0d109920-065c-47c0-831c-ab48f55f434b.jpg\" class=\"css-0 e1g79fud0\"\/>@zoetheball\/\/Instagram<\/p>\n<p>Zoe Ball spent a week at Jason Vale\u2019s Juicy Escape Retreat in the Algarve<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"24\" class=\"css-1ood0zq emevuu60\">In other words, it offers an effective cardiovascular workout without the impact on your joints that you\u2019ll get from running, making it a solid choice for people looking to improve fitness without placing any stress on their knees, hips or ankles. <\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"28\" class=\"css-1ood0zq emevuu60\">Here\u2019s what the other research says, and why you should try it. <\/p>\n<p>Rebounding benefits<\/p>\n<ul data-node-id=\"30\" class=\"css-12c7ta7 emevuu60\">\n<li data-node-id=\"30.0\"><strong data-node-id=\"30.0.0\">It can improve balance and coordination:<\/strong> As you bounce on the unstable surface, your balance, coordination, and functional mobility improves. Indeed, twelve weeks of rebounding was highly effective in improving balance and mobility in women over 50 with osteopenia, according to a 2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC6929928\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC6929928\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"study\" data-node-id=\"30.0.2\" class=\"body-link css-1e57p3n emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><strong data-node-id=\"30.0.2.0\">study<\/strong><\/a> out of the Clinical Interventions in Ageing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul data-node-id=\"31\" class=\"css-12c7ta7 emevuu60\">\n<li data-node-id=\"31.0\"><strong data-node-id=\"31.0.0\">It counts as cardio:<\/strong> For an American Council on Exercise <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acefitness.org\/continuing-education\/prosource\/october-2016\/6081\/ace-sponsored-research-putting-mini-trampolines-to-the-test\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.acefitness.org\/continuing-education\/prosource\/october-2016\/6081\/ace-sponsored-research-putting-mini-trampolines-to-the-test\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"study\" data-node-id=\"31.0.2\" class=\"body-link css-1e57p3n emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">study<\/a>, 24 college students participated in a rebounder workout, during which their average heart rate was at 79 percent of their heart rate max \u2013 within the benchmark range for cardio workouts.<\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"31.1\"><strong data-node-id=\"31.1.0\">It burns calories and can aid weight loss<\/strong>: On average, women burn 9.4 calories per minute while on a rebounder, which is approximately equivalent to running six mph on flat ground or biking at 14 mph, according to the American Council on Exercise. In part due to the calorie burn, rebounding can help promote weight loss, according to a 2018 <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/27441918\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/27441918\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"study\" data-node-id=\"31.1.2\" class=\"body-link css-1e57p3n emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><strong data-node-id=\"31.1.2.0\">study<\/strong><\/a> in The Journal of Sports Medicine and Physical Fitness.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"35\" class=\"css-1ood0zq emevuu60\">The science is a reminder that getting your heart rate up and improving your fitness doesn\u2019t always have to mean pounding the pavements \u2013 it can mean bouncing on a trampoline.
