{"id":9058,"date":"2025-06-23T21:53:11","date_gmt":"2025-06-23T21:53:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/9058\/"},"modified":"2025-06-23T21:53:11","modified_gmt":"2025-06-23T21:53:11","slug":"android-auto-14-7-delivers-the-final-prep-for-light-theme-gallery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/9058\/","title":{"rendered":"Android Auto 14.7 delivers the final prep for light theme [Gallery]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t<img width=\"1600\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Android-Auto-1.jpg\" class=\"skip-lazy wp-post-image\" alt=\"\"  decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Google has released Android Auto 14.7 through its beta program and while there are no user-facing changes just yet, this update is the biggest step we\u2019ve seen to date towards releasing the platform\u2019s light theme option.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve known about a light theme in Android Auto<a href=\"https:\/\/9to5google.com\/2023\/02\/08\/android-auto-coolwalk-animation-light-theme\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> since 2023,<\/a> but Google hasn\u2019t yet released it. Clearly, though, things are moving in that direction. <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5google.com\/2025\/05\/01\/android-auto-light-theme-updates-gallery\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Progress on the light theme <\/a>has been spotted in recent months and, at Google I\/O, <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5google.com\/2025\/05\/22\/google-android-auto-light-theme-preview\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the company even officially showed it off for the first time as 9to5Google was first to report.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, it looks like things are moving faster towards a real release.<\/p>\n<p>In the first beta update for Android Auto 14.7, Google has added strings that directly reference light mode and a new \u201cTheme\u201d section in the Settings. An \u201cAutomatic\u201d option also confirms speculation that the two themes will be able to swap based on the time of day and\/or your car\u2019s lights.<\/p>\n<p>\tAdvertisement &#8211; scroll for more content<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<ul id=\"added-strings-ul\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Automatic<\/li>\n<li>Dark<\/li>\n<li>Light<\/li>\n<li>Theme<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In the two years we\u2019ve known about this feature, this is the first explicit mention of it in the app\u2019s strings. Everything else has been obfuscated.<\/p>\n<p>The folks at Android Authority were able to activate this in the latest version, showing the new menus both on the car\u2019s display and on the Android Auto phone app. Notably, this seems to replace the existing day\/night theme settings for Google Maps. <\/p>\n<p>Importantly, that post somewhat buries that some \u201ctricks\u201d were used to enable this change. It is <strong>not<\/strong> live by default in Android Auto 14.7.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-wp-class--hide=\"state.isContentHidden\"
