Cult-favorite chicken chain Bojangles is headed to the Far West Side to open its newest San Antonio restaurant.

The wildly popular North Carolina-based chain made its Alamo City debut in 2023 at 8730 Potranco Rd. At the time, the company stated it would be the first of three area storefronts — part of a Texas expansion plan. After heading to Seguin, it kept that promise with an April opening at 3003 SW Military Dr., but it seems it’s not through with Alamo City just yet.

Once open, Breakfast visitors will be able to score buttermilk biscuits topped with bacon, egg, and cheese; country ham; or sausage. And, of course, the new outpost will offer the chain’s signature peppery fried chicken with Southern-style sides like coleslaw, dirty rice, mac ‘n’ cheese, and Bo-Tatos, Bojangles’ circular hashbrown-tater tot hybrids.

None of the Texas locations, however, offer bone-in chicken. When corporate heads announced the statewide expansion, they said the chain would streamline the traditional menu, focusing on best-sellers like tenders and chicken sandwiches.

According to a new Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing, work on the former Arby’s will wrap up in December, though that should be taken with a grain of salt. Projects often finish early, and just as often are delayed by permitting and other issues.

But local fans should keep a close watch. Bojangles regularly celebrates its launches with free gift cards, swag bags, and giveaways. And it is a custom to hold special services for first responders.

[5133
5229,20494,27814,39672,10084,7202,7203,358,3187,67,586,132,5230,68,2969
post-906262","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-san-antonio","tag-america","tag-chains","tag-chicken","tag-far-west-side","tag-openings","tag-san-antonio","tag-sanantonio","tag-texas","tag-tx","tag-united-states","tag-united-states-of-america","tag-unitedstates","tag-unitedstatesofamerica","tag-us","tag-usa
["GET
