JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 The Fourth Judicial Circuit and the Duval County Clerk of Courts held an All-American Adoption celebration to finalize adoptions for local youth on Wednesday morning. <\/p>\n
It took place ahead of America\u2019s 250th anniversary of independence. <\/p>\n
>>> STREAM ACTION NEWS JAX LIVE <<<<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n Organizers also held a carnival outside the Duval County Courthouse to help the children and families celebrate. <\/p>\n The Harris family walked in the courthouse to be re-bonded in a new way. Kenneth Harris and his wife Allegra adopted Kenneth\u2019s one year old niece Farah. Yellow is her favorite color. <\/p>\n [DOWNLOAD: <\/b>Free Action News Jax app for alerts as news breaks<\/b><\/a>]<\/b><\/p>\n Kenneth\u2019s mom Algeree Harris adopted her six-year-old granddaughter Skylar. The siblings belong to Algree\u2019s other son, who\u2019s going through tough times.<\/p>\n For mom and son, both with adult children, they\u2019re starting over now. Kenneth and his wife already have four children!<\/p>\n \u201cOur baby will be 18 in August and she just graduated, so now she\u2019s the baby,\u201d Allegra said.<\/p>\n [SIGN UP: <\/b>Action News Jax Daily Headlines Newsletter<\/b><\/a>] <\/b><\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s no sweat off my back. I\u2019ve always been a father. I\u2019ve always been there for my kids so I\u2019m gonna be here for her just like I was there for them,\u201d Kenneth said. <\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s challenging but I\u2019m up for the challenge,\u201d Algeree said. <\/p>\n The celebrations for adopted families continued outside the courthouse with the All-American Stars and Stripes Adoption Celebration.
