The FIFA judicial bodies may impose additional match suspensions and other disciplinary measures.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The only instance in which the U.S. could appeal is if FIFA\u2019s disciplinary committee decides to suspend Balogun for more than one game after reviewing the incident.<\/p>\n<p>Broadcast commentators and fans immediately questioned the decision after Balogun was shown a red card during the <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/sports\/soccer\/story\/2026-07-01\/u-s-advances-to-round-of-16-with-thrilling-win-over-bosnia-herzegovina\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">U.S.\u2018s win over Bosnia-Herzegovina<\/a> on Wednesday at Levi\u2019s Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>Balogun crashed into Bosnia\u2019s Tarik Muharemovi\u0107, landing his foot on top of Muharemovi\u0107\u2019s during the  physical match. Muharemovi\u0107 hit the pitch, howling in pain, and was treated on the field.
