The eatery will have double drive-thru lanes with a canopy and patio seating, according to the filing.

Construction will begin in January and is expected to be completed by April.

Company officials said they searched across the state to find locations for their expansion. They believe the chain’s popularity will propel it to new success in Texas.

“There are lots of people from the Midwest. There are lots of people from the Northeast where they have grown up on slides and have moved to Texas and we want to be able to satisfy their crave here with a brand-new White Castle,” Lisa Ingram, CEO, president and board chair of the Ohio-based chain, told reporters last year when the company announced its Denton County restaurant.

White Castle, which owns 335 restaurants nationwide, has expanded its offerings beyond hamburger sliders. The company recently introduced new sliders, including veggie, crispy chicken slider and breaded fish options.

Eric E. Garcia is senior business reporter at the Fort Worth Report.
