Exactly how his character will exit the series is being kept under wraps, but sources say it will happen in the early part of the season. Hawkins has also played Atwater in various crossovers with the other \u201cOne Chicago\u201d shows on NBC. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIn addition to his work in \u201cChicago PD,\u201d Hawkins has appeared in series like \u201cIronheart\u201d for Disney+ and Marvel as well as \u201cPower Book IV: Force\u201d and \u201cBallers,\u201d among others. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAll three \u201cOne Chicago\u201d shows \u2014 \u201cChicago P.D.,\u201d \u201cChicago Fire,\u201d and \u201cChicago Med\u201d \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/tv\/news\/chicago-fire-chicago-pd-chicago-med-renewed-nbc-2-1236701747\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"1236701747\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">scored early renewals<\/a> this year at NBC. That brings \u201cChicago Fire\u201d to its 15th season, \u201cChicago PD\u201d to its 14th, and \u201cChicago Med\u201d to its 12th. All three shows are <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/tv\/news\/nbc-fall-2026-premiere-dates-traitors-the-voice-season-30-1236789597\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/tv\/news\/nbc-fall-2026-premiere-dates-traitors-the-voice-season-30-1236789597\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">slated to return Oct. 7 <\/a>for the 2026-2027 broadcast season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAll three shows remain ratings stalwarts on the NBC primetime lineup, even this late in their runs. They continue to power NBC\u2019s Wednesday night schedule, airing back-to-back. On March 4, NBC aired another \u201cOne Chicago\u201d crossover event, with all three shows hitting season highs in total viewers as a result.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cChicago PD\u201d stars Jason Beghe, Patrick John Flueger, Marina Squerciati, Benjamin Levy Aguilar, Amy Morton, and Arienne Mandi. It is produced by Universal Television in association with Wolf Entertainment.
