METRO announces new rail station named after Joe Ramirez<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The city of Houston officially renamed the former Cesar Chavez Boulevard to Joe E. Ramirez Boulevard on June 26.<\/p>\n<p>To align with the new street name, METRO announced that it changed the Cesar Chavez\/67th Street METRORail station to the Joe E. Ramirez METRORail station. New ice cream, candy shop opens in Texas City<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pecan Jacks Ice Cream &amp; Candy Kitchen celebrated the grand opening of its Texas City franchise location in June following an earlier soft opening, staff said.<\/p>\n<p>Pecan Jacks is a specialty ice creamery and candy kitchen offering more than 11 varieties of alcohol-infused ice cream as well as non-alcoholic flavors, according to the business&#8217; website.
