\n\tResident Alien has been canceled after four seasons, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\tThe news came Thursday night ahead of the show\u2019s intended finale set for Aug. 8. The sci-fi comedy, starring Alan Tudyk<\/a> as a crash-landed alien named Harry, notably shifted its home network from Syfy to USA Network<\/a> for its fourth season in hopes to expand its audience.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\tResident Alien<\/a> received a bit of a viewership boost from the first three seasons of the series being available to stream on Netflix last summer. In a conversation with TV Insider<\/a>, series creator and showrunner Chris Sheridan said he \u201cknew going into [season four] that this was likely going to be our final season.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cCreatively, that was exciting because I knew we could spend the time wrapping up some storylines and driving toward an ending,\u201d Sheridan added. \u201cI\u2019m so proud of how good Season 4 is and especially proud that we were able to finish as strongly as we did, with a finale that is probably my favorite episode of the series.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\tAlongside Tudyk, who plays an alien attempting to assimilate to human life in a small town in Colorado, Resident Alien starred Sara Tomko, Corey Reynolds, Alice Wetterlund, Levi Fiehler, Elizabeth Bowen, Judah Prehn and Meredith Garretson. The series is produced UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, in association with Amblin TV and Dark Horse Entertainment.<\/p>\n
