South Korea&#8217;s Kospi advanced 4.65%, and the Kosdaq Index declined 1.68%.<\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.AXJO\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">S&amp;P\/ASX 200<\/a> added 1.39%. Hong Kong&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.HSI\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hang Seng Index<\/a>\u00a0gained 1.57%, while the mainland&#8217;s CSI 300 was up 1.15%. Taiwan&#8217;s benchmark Taiex inched 0.2% higher.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. markets are closed for the Independence Day holiday.<\/p>\n<p>Overnight in the U.S., stocks ended mixed with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.DJI\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dow Jones Industrial Average<\/a> closing at a record high after a softer-than-expected June jobs report fueled hopes for Federal Reserve rate cuts. Meanwhile, weakness in semiconductor stocks dragged the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.IXIC\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nasdaq<\/a> lower.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The 30-stock average added 594.83 points, or 1.14%, for a record close of 52,900.07. The index hit a new all-time intraday high of 52,903.85. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.SPX\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">S&amp;P 500<\/a> rose less than 1 point to end at 7,483.24, while the Nasdaq dropped 0.8% to 25,832.67.<\/p>\n<p>Semiconductors fell for a second day in a row, weighing on the latter two benchmarks.
