Jenna Ortega<\/a> has said that she is \u201calways scared\u201d when meeting fans and that she sometimes feels \u201cuncomfortable\u201d when approached by grown men.<\/p>\n The Wednesday<\/a> star, who is currently promoting season two<\/a> of Tim Burton<\/a>\u2019s hit Netflix<\/a> show, has opened up about her struggles under the spotlight. <\/p>\n Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>, Ortega was asked whether any fan interactions have left her frightened. <\/p>\n The 22-year-old<\/a> responded candidly, stating: \u201cI\u2019m always scared. Somebody shouting your name in public is insane. Sometimes I feel uncomfortable when it\u2019s grown men approaching me.\u201d<\/p>\n open image in gallery<\/p>\n \u2018Wednesday\u2019 has turned Jenna Ortega into a household name (Getty)<\/p>\n Ortega went on to say that she has received \u201chorrific\u201d verbal abuse on the street, revealing that she was once called a \u201cc*** whore\u201d in front of her mother. <\/p>\n Asked whether it is possible for her to go out in public incognito, the Beetlejuice Beetlejuice star replied: \u201cSometimes you go out, and it\u2019s a mess. And other times, I could be walking for hours and no one gives a s***. If you really want to go unseen, you can do it.\u201d<\/p>\n Ortega explained that she feels \u201cincredibly misunderstood\u201d by the public\u2019s perception of her. \u201cIt\u2019s almost to a point where it feels like your name doesn\u2019t belong to you,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n \u201cI almost don\u2019t even resonate with it anymore. I hate assumptions, and a big part of this job is that people are going to make assumptions about you.\u201d<\/p>\n This is not the first time that Ortega has spoken about feeling ill at ease with Wednesday\u2019s stratospheric success since its first season premiered in 2022. <\/p>\n Earlier this year, the actor told Harper\u2019s Bazaar<\/a>: \u201cTo be quite frank, after the show and trying to figure everything out, I was an unhappy person.
