Claim? I put them together and made the acronym G.O.A.T.\u2014and then it just spread around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>LL Cool J GOAT Origins<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"font-lora text-dark-grey !leading-[1.9125rem] break-words text-[17px] lg:text-lg\">He also reminded viewers that the first formal use of the phrase appeared in 2000, on the cover of his eighth studio album G.O.A.T. Featuring James T. Smith: The Greatest of All Time. It marked a significant commercial resurgence and cemented his status as a veteran with lasting influence.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-lora text-dark-grey !leading-[1.9125rem] break-words text-[17px] lg:text-lg\">This isn\u2019t the first time LL has claimed the origin of the acronym. In a 2024 interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2024\/09\/06\/ll-cool-j-had-no-idea-invent-one-most-used-meme-phrases-time-21554891\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" class=\"font-semibold hover:text-accent-color border-b-2 border-accent-color\">Metro UK<\/a>, he said there was \u201cno question\u201d he created it. Reflecting on its rise from album title to global catchphrase, he called its popularity \u201cwild\u201d and \u201cunexpected.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-lora text-dark-grey !leading-[1.9125rem] break-words text-[17px] lg:text-lg\">Though he never trademarked the phrase, LL sees its ubiquity as validation. \u201cIt says to me, if I\u2019m capable of creating terminology for the entire globe, I can do some big things,\u201d he told Meyers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-lora text-dark-grey !leading-[1.9125rem] break-words text-[17px] lg:text-lg\">Now used across sports, music, and social media, \u201cG.O.A.T.\u201d has transcended generations.
