DEARBORN, Mich.<\/strong> \u2013 Two people are in custody in connection with the fatal shooting that left two people dead and another injured inside Fairlane Town Center, Dearborn police announced.<\/p>\n

Police said investigators quickly identified two individuals believed to be involved in the shooting on Friday (July 3), and both are being held at the Dearborn Police Department. <\/p>\n

No charges had been announced as of Friday evening<\/b><\/a>.<\/p>\n

The shooting occurred at about 1:25 p.m. inside the shopping mall near Michigan Avenue and Evergreen Road.<\/p>\n

Officers responding to reports of gunfire found three people who had been shot. <\/p>\n

One person died at the scene, and a second victim died after being taken to a Metro Detroit hospital. <\/p>\n

Police said a third person suffered non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n

The victims ranged in age from their late teens to early 20s, police said.<\/p>\n

Police said the shooting stemmed from a dispute between two groups that escalated into gunfire.<\/p>\n

Officials emphasized the violence was an isolated incident and not a random attack.<\/p>\n

Police said detectives continue to interview witnesses, review evidence, and work to determine the full circumstances surrounding the shooting.<\/p>\n

Earlier Friday, officials said all three people who were shot are believed to have been involved in the dispute.<\/p>\n

The mall was closed for several hours while investigators processed the scene.<\/p>\n

Police have not released the identities of the victims or the two people in custody.<\/p>\n
