{"id":911852,"date":"2026-07-04T11:12:19","date_gmt":"2026-07-04T11:12:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/911852\/"},"modified":"2026-07-04T11:12:19","modified_gmt":"2026-07-04T11:12:19","slug":"tucson-golf-pro-makes-it-to-the-u-s-senior-open","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/911852\/","title":{"rendered":"Tucson golf pro makes it to the U.S. Senior Open"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\nSubscriber Exclusive \u2014 Unlocked This Weekend Courtesy of Tucson Appliance.\n<\/p>\n<p>Sixteen years ago, 2010, Skyline Country Club golf pro <strong>Chris Dompier<\/strong> shot a 59 at Skyline, becoming just the fifth Tucsonan to break 60 and become part of the city&#8217;s rich golf history.<\/p>\n<p>Dompier took it to a higher level this week, qualifying for the ongoing U.S. Senior Open, winning a playoff in the final qualifying round in Denver. Dompier has probably been the top Tucson club pro of the last decade or so.<\/p>\n<p>He is one of six to break 60. The others: <strong>Armen Dirtadian<\/strong> shot 59 at Dell Urich in 1977; <strong>Willie Kane<\/strong> shot 58 at Dell Urich in 1989; <strong>Rich Barcelo<\/strong> shot 59 at Arizona National in 2000; <strong>Chris Nallen<\/strong> shot 58 at Arizona National in 2003; Dompier shot 59 at Skyline in 2010; and <strong>Mike Russell<\/strong> shot 59 at the Stone Canyon Club in 2013.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Subscriber Exclusive \u2014 Unlocked This Weekend Courtesy of Tucson Appliance.
