{"id":9126,"date":"2025-06-23T22:28:13","date_gmt":"2025-06-23T22:28:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/9126\/"},"modified":"2025-06-23T22:28:13","modified_gmt":"2025-06-23T22:28:13","slug":"futurama-actor-john-dimaggio-asks-1-99m-for-la-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/9126\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Futurama&#8217; actor John DiMaggio asks $1.99M for LA home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After more than a decade tucked into a secluded corner of the Studio City hills, Emmy-nominated voice actor John DiMaggio and actress Kate Miller are saying goodbye to their Los Angeles home, The Post has learned.<\/p>\n<p>A striking 1979 modernist residence designed by architect John Bleser, the dwelling is now listed for $1.99 million.<\/p>\n<p>Best known for voicing Bender in the culty cartoon \u201cFuturama,\u201d DiMaggio called the move \u201cbittersweet,\u201d adding, \u201cIt\u2019s where we\u2019ve been for a while.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Emmy-nominated voice actor John DiMaggio \u2014 best known as the voice of Bender in \u201cFuturama\u201d \u2014 and his wife, stage and screen actress Kate Miller, have listed their architectural hillside retreat in Los Angeles for $1.99 million. We ended up there for 14 years,\u201d Miller said. \u201cA comfort zone is a wonderful place, but nothing ever grows there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Set against the Verdugo Mountains, the three-story hillside dwelling offers sweeping valley views, open-concept interiors, a regenerating brook and decks. David Fitzgerald<\/p>\n<p>Inside, the couple outfitted the space with work and play in mind. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring COVID, I recorded a lot of things from home, and it was more of a studio slash office, in the house,\u201d DiMaggio said. \u201cThere\u2019s great work space in the house.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A life-sized replica of Bender \u2014 gifted to DiMaggio by the creators of \u201cFuturama\u201d \u2014 currently stands watch inside the studio, a physical reminder of the show\u2019s long legacy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s something that I got from \u2018Futurama\u2019 a long time ago that only a couple of people have gotten,\u201d DiMaggio said.<\/p>\n<p>Designed by modernist architect John Bleser in 1979, the three-story home is a private sanctuary perched above the city with sweeping views of the Verdugo Mountains. David Fitzgerald<\/p>\n<p>Outside, the property is a haven for wildlife \u2014 frequent visits from deer, owls and hawks have added to its peaceful, woodsy charm.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a beautiful special place up there in the hills. And it\u2019s a really unique architectural piece of property,\u201d Miller added. <\/p>\n<p>Originally designed with entertainers and creatives in mind, the roughly 3,000-square-foot residence includes a dramatic glass conservatory with double-height windows, two levels of entertaining space, and a private third-story retreat with bedrooms and outdoor lounge areas. <\/p>\n<p>The home occupies roughly 3,000 square feet. Getty Images for STARZ<\/p>\n<p>The home\u2019s custom brook feature, lush landscaping and privacy fencing enhance its appeal, while its walkability to Ventura Boulevard and sushi favorites like Avi Cue and KazuNori add urban convenience.<\/p>\n<p>Adara Salim of the Beverly Hills Estates holds the listing.<\/p>\n<p>DiMaggio\u2019s on-camera appearances span everything from \u201cBetter Call Saul,\u201d \u201cModern Family\u201d and \u201cInterview with the Vampire,\u201d to voice work in \u201cZootopia,\u201d \u201cTransformers: Dark of the Moon,\u201d \u201cSamurai Jack\u201d and \u201cThe Super Mario Bros. David Fitzgerald<\/p>\n<p>Miller, a veteran of both stage and screen, has appeared in everything from \u201cBlue Bloods\u201d and \u201cHightown\u201d to Broadway productions with Carol Burnett and Michael Sheen. Her voice roles include \u201cSealab 2021,\u201d \u201cFrisky Dingo\u201d and major video games like \u201cGod of War: Ragnar\u00f6k.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The couple began dating in 2011.<\/p>\n<p>They also recently went into contract on their Palm Springs home, which they\u2019ve owned for 11 years. These days, they\u2019re spending summers in the Hamptons and continue to maintain a home in Manhattan\u2019s West Village.<\/p>\n<p>One of three bedrooms. David Fitzgerald<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJohn was born in New York and raised in Jersey, so we\u2019re East Coast people,\u201d Miller said.<\/p>\n<p>Still, their hillside LA home holds a special place as they are still figuring out where they will permanently settle.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s the house we bought when we first got married,\u201d DiMaggio said. \u201cSo there\u2019s a lot of nostalgia attached to it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As for the life-sized Bender statue that currently resides in DiMaggio\u2019s studio?
