(WCAX) &#8211; The numbers are in, and June border crossings from Canada into New York were down compared to last year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">According to the North Country Chamber of Commerce, crossings by car into the Champlain Port of Entry were down 26% compared to June of 2024.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">That\u2019s almost 70,500 in 2025 versus just over 95,500 last year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">While that is still slightly better than the May numbers, which saw border crossings down almost 31%, Chamber President Garry Douglas says it is \u201cstill a substantial downturn being felt by our area hospitality and retail businesses.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2025 WCAX.
