JACKSONVILLE, Fla.<\/strong> \u2013 A man is dead after a shooting police say stemmed from a fight during 4th of July festivities near Jacksonville\u2019s Oceanway neighborhood.<\/p>\n

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office, officers responded to the 3600 block of New Berlin Road at approximatively 7:27 p.m. Saturday night in reference to a reported shooting. They found a man on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound. <\/p>\n

Witnesses performed CPR on the man until crews with the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department arrived on the scene. When JFRD arrived, the man was pronounced deceased.<\/p>\n

Detectives with the Homicide Unit and the Crime Scene Unit say a group of people were celebrating the 4th of July holiday in the surrounding area, near William F. Sheffield Regional Park. At some point, a fight broke out, ultimately leading to the fatal shooting.<\/p>\n

Investigators are speaking with multiple witnesses and gathering evidence. Multiple people were detained; however, no suspects have been identified. <\/p>\n

Investigators believe this shooting is an isolated incident.<\/p>\n
