{"id":914375,"date":"2026-07-05T15:28:16","date_gmt":"2026-07-05T15:28:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/914375\/"},"modified":"2026-07-05T15:28:16","modified_gmt":"2026-07-05T15:28:16","slug":"dads-clever-hack-to-feed-family-for-cheap-at-chick-fil-a","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/914375\/","title":{"rendered":"Dad&#8217;s clever hack to feed family for cheap at Chick-fil-A"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>He\u2019s saving people\u2019s wallets, one fried chicken sandwich at a time.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s no denying that <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/06\/10\/business\/inflation-tops-4-for-the-first-time-in-three-years-as-iran-war-drives-energy-costs-higher\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">prices have gotten out of control<\/a>, especially for once-affordable treats like fast food. <\/p>\n<p>So it comes as no surprise that a dad of three recently went viral for his clever hack of keeping a <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/03\/14\/us-news\/nj-chick-fil-a-employee-surprised-by-ceo-with-25k-scholarship-check\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chick-fil-A bill under $45 for a family of five<\/a> \u2014 because no one should be paying that much for some fried chicken on a bun.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have a hack for every day who\u2019s always saying, \u2018Why are we spending so much money at Chick-fil-A,\u201d podcast host Jeff Johnson proudly said in his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/jeffejohnson\/?hl=en\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Instagram video<\/a> with over 200,000 views. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cInstead of everybody ordering their fried chicken sandwich and their meal, here\u2019s what we just did\u2026 we ordered 30 nuggets [for $17]\u2026 and we ordered [everyone] just a buttered bun, which is the sandwich, for 25 cents each,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n<p>The video pans to one of his family members, who is holding an open buttered bun with several fried chicken nuggets inside. <\/p>\n<p>Even with some side sauces and drinks, the meal is still inexpensive. <\/p>\n<p>If Johnson had ordered each of his five family members a fried chicken sandwich, a side of fries, and a drink \u2014 it would\u2019ve easily cost upwards of $55, give or take. <\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.49707602;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"39892886\" width=\"883\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/steve-cuozzo-sampling-chicken-sandwich-16814578.jpg\" alt=\"A Chick-fil-A fried chicken sandwich in foil wrapper.\" class=\"wp-image-39892886\"  \/>The chain\u2019s fried chicken sandwich meal can cost around $11, depending on location. Stefano Giovannini<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEveryone\u2019s happy, dad\u2019s happy\u2026You could eat for under $45 for a family of five,\u201d he pointed out.<\/p>\n<p>And the commenters were just as thrilled to learn this money-saving tip.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChick-fil-A is expensive. Good advice dude. Feeding a family of 5 for 45$?? It\u2019s like it\u2019s 2018 again!\u201d a shocked commenter shared.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been doing this for years. McDonald\u2019s has a 10 piece for the same price as a happy meal basically\u2026 Kids split the 10 piece and the three of us split my large fry with my combo,\u201d someone else wrote.<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.49926794;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"39892885\" width=\"885\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/chick-fil-a-chicken-restaurant-133370522.jpg\" alt=\"Chick-fil-A chicken restaurant with a red and white sign advertising a new pretzel cheddar club.\" class=\"wp-image-39892885\"  \/>The popular chain recently went back to its original waffle fry recipe after customer backlash over the restaurant adding pea starch to its recipe.  jetcityimage \u2013 stock.adobe.com<\/p>\n<p>Regardless of how customers consume their Chick-fil-A, something they were up in arms about up until recently was the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/03\/04\/lifestyle\/chick-fil-a-quietly-reverses-waffle-fries-recipe-after-backlash\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">chain\u2019s waffle fry recipe change<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The menu staple has been around since 1985, but recently faced immense backlash from loyal customers after pea starch was added to the famous recipe two years ago to make the fries crispier supposedly.<\/p>\n<p>But fans weren\u2019t buying it.<\/p>\n<p>After enough criticism from frustrated customers, the Georgia chain confirmed in March of this year that the added starch was no more, as\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/chick-fil-a-reverses-change-to-waffle-fries-that-sparked-backlash-11918252\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">reported by People.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThanks Chick-fil-A for taking pea starch out of your fries,\u201d one\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Eklue15\/status\/2027185704590086513\" rel=\"nofollow\">X user <\/a>wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTHEY REMOVED THE PEA STARCH!!
