KISS<\/strong> bassist\u00a0and\u00a0vocalist Gene Simmons<\/a> recently\u00a0expressed\u00a0his\u00a0strong\u00a0opinions\u00a0regarding\u00a0critics\u00a0of the United States just\u00a0before\u00a0the\u00a0nation\u00a0celebrated its\u00a0250th anniversary\u00a0on\u00a0July\u00a04th, as per theprp<\/a>.\u00a0During a solo\u00a0concert\u00a0at\u00a0\u2018Summerfest\u2019\u00a0at Henry W.\u00a0Maier Festival Park in Milwaukee, WI, the 76-year-old Rock & Roll Hall\u00a0of\u00a0Famer\u00a0shared\u00a0his\u00a0feelings of\u00a0patriotism\u00a0while\u00a0preparing\u00a0to\u00a0host\u00a0a ceremony\u00a0in\u00a0Washington, DC, to honor\u00a0World War II veterans at the\u00a0request\u00a0of the White House\u00a0the following day.\u00a0Although\u00a0Simmons<\/strong> was\u00a0recognized\u00a0by U.\u00a0S.\u00a0President Donald J.\u00a0Trump late last year, he\u00a0stated\u00a0in\u00a0March that he\u00a0disagrees\u00a0with\u00a0celebrities\u00a0discussing\u00a0political\u00a0matters\u00a0publicly, even though he has\u00a0participated\u00a0in\u00a0such discussions\u00a0himself in the past.<\/p>\n

In case you don\u2019t know it, you are blessed. You are living in the greatest fucking country on the planet. And that\u2019s called USA. Okay, I wanna tell you why I took a minute to talk about America, because if you\u2019ve been asleep the last 250 years, tomorrow is America\u2019s 250th birthday.<\/p>\n

This is the greatest country, That\u2019s why we\u2019ve had anywhere from 20 million to 30 million illegal immigrants. Why? \u2018Cause they are willing to break the law and come into the greatest country on the face of the planet, right here. We have more illegal immigrants than most countries have populations on the face of the planet. That\u2019s a fact.<\/p>\n

I myself am an immigrant, but a legal one. I came through the lawful way. You wait in line, you respect the country, you respect its laws, and then you become a citizen of the United States of America. And in return, you get police who risk their lives to protect you.<\/p>\n

And you get first responders who are here for you. And if your house is on fire, you get fire departments that risk their lives to come put that fire out for you. You get a school system that\u2019s yours, and everything is free. Cops, fire department, school \u2014 free. All you gotta do is follow the law and do it legally, okay?<\/p>\n

I\u2019m honored to say I\u2019ve gotta get up at 3:30 this morning to catch a 5:00 a.m. flight because I\u2019ve been asked by the White House to narrate the World War II Veterans honors in America\u2019s 250th birthday tomorrow in Washington, D.C. And unless you guys think Fourth of July is just fireworks and all that, without our veterans, there would be nothing. There would be no America. There would be nothing.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Politicians talk the talk but veterans put their lives out there. All gave some, some gave all. Don\u2019t forget. So the next time you\u2019re going to a Starbucks and you see somebody in uniform, step aside and make way for a real hero. That\u2019s the least you can do.<\/p>\n
