HOUSTON<\/strong> \u2013 Sea breeze storms are winding down for the night. It will be warm and humid through Tuesday morning. <\/p>\n Tuesday\u2019s forecast:<\/b><\/p>\n Tuesday will bring more of the same: hot, humid, and mostly sunny with a few hit-or-miss showers and storms possible during the afternoon and early evening. Highs will climb into the mid-to-upper 90s, but it will feel hotter, with heat index values around 105 to 106 degrees.<\/p>\n Rain chances will be around 30 percent, so this is not a widespread rain day. However, any storm that does develop could bring a quick downpour, brief gusty winds, and lightning. Just like we saw over the weekend, rainfall totals may vary dramatically from one neighborhood to the next.<\/p>\n Tuesday AfternoonMidweek dry out:<\/b><\/p>\n By Wednesday and Thursday, high pressure will build back over the region, lowering daily rain chances. That means most of Houston will stay mostly sunny, hot, and humid, with only a very isolated shower or storm possible.<\/p>\n Highs will remain in the mid-to-upper 90s, and overnight lows will stay close to 80 degrees. Afternoon winds may also become a little breezier out of the south, with gusts up to 15 or 20 mph.<\/p>\n Thursday may also bring a return of Saharan dust, which could lead to a hazier sky. The dust can sometimes help limit storm development, but it does not do much to cool us down. High pressure should weaken enough to allow rain chances to climb again Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.<\/p>\n Friday will likely start the transition, with a few scattered showers and storms possible later in the day. Rain chances look higher Saturday and Sunday, when more scattered showers and storms may develop across Southeast Texas.<\/p>\n At this point, the weekend does not look like a total washout, but it does look wetter than the middle of the week. Rain chances may climb to around 50 to 60 percent at times, especially Saturday. With more clouds and rain around, highs may come down slightly into the low-to-mid 90s, but it will still feel hot and humid.<\/p>\n Weekend Forecast10 Day Forecast:<\/b><\/p>\n Looking ahead, elevated rain chances may continue into early next week before the pattern potentially dries out again by the middle of next week. There is not a strong signal yet for a major pattern change, so the big-picture forecast remains very July: hot afternoons, muggy nights, and daily rain chances that depend on the strength of high pressure.<\/p>\n For now, the best chance for more widespread rain appears to be this weekend into early next week.
