San Diego Sheriff’s Deputies are looking for a man who is suspected of setting a fire at an apartment complex, leaving three people hurt in Imperial Beach on Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n

The fire was reported around 1:36 a.m. at the 1300 block of Imperial Beach Blvd. when a fire, suspected to have started at a camper parked in a driveway, spread to nearby apartments. Four apartments were evacuated, Imperial Beach Fire Department Capt. Jason Bell said.<\/p>\n

Three people were hurt in the fire, and two were taken to a local hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown, Capt. Bell said. <\/p>\n

The San Diego Sheriff’s Department said they are investigating this as a potential arson. The suspect is described as a bald man in his 40s wearing a blue-and-black button-up shirt. <\/p>\n

Captain Bell wanted to remind residents of the importance of ensuring their smoke detectors are working properly. <\/p>\n

“Make sure your smoke detectors are operational; check your batteries; those will be your initial lifeline and give you the early warning to get out while there’s still time,” Capt. Bell said.<\/p>\n

Red Cross is at the scene helping the seven people who were displaced. <\/p>\n

Imperial Beach Blvd. reopened after being closed for several hours.<\/p>\n
