I\u2019M LOOKING AND I\u2019M LIKE, I FEEL LIKE I\u2019M GONNA DO THIS FOREVER UNTIL IT\u2019S FOUND. IT\u2019S A NEW ROUTINE. NOWADAYS, WENDY WOLF IS ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THE FAMILY\u2019S STOLEN SUV. I WAS LIKE, DID I PARK THE CAR SOMEWHERE ELSE? WHY WOULD I DO THIS TO. I LOOK IN GARAGES THAT ARE OPEN AND LOTS TO. EVER SINCE THIEVES SNATCHED THE BLUE HONDA CRV FROM WOLF\u2019S THOMPSON STREET HOME IN PORT RICHMOND EARLY SATURDAY MORNING, SHE\u2019S BEEN FOCUSED ON GETTING IT BACK. WOLF DROVE THE CAR TO RESCUE CATS. YOU THINK THIS IS AN ISSUE AROUND THE CITY? OBVIOUSLY 100% A NEIGHBOR. I FOUND OUT WHILE TALKING TO NEIGHBORS ABOUT MY CAR THAT WAS STOLEN ON MY STREET A MONTH AGO, AND I KIND OF WISH SOMEBODY HAD SAID THAT FROM PORT RICHMOND TO KENSINGTON TO CAMDEN, WOLF HASN\u2019T STOPPED SEARCHING. HAVE ANY FEELINGS ABOUT IT AT THE TIME? OH, IT TOOK ME LIKE TWO HOURS. AND THEN I WAS LIKE, I\u2019M SO SAD. I WAS LIKE, HOW COULD THEY TAKE MY CAR? IT\u2019S A CRIME ALL TOO FAMILIAR FOR MANY IN PHILADELPHIA. ACCORDING TO THE LATEST NUMBERS, THIEVES STOLE 1130 CARS IN THE CITY IN THE LAST 28 DAYS. THEY TOOK 271 LAST WEEK ALONE. BUT OVERALL, AUTO THEFT IS DOWN NEARLY 8% FROM LAST YEAR. I KEEP MY CAR KEYS IN A FARADAY BOX. THAT WAS THE THING I WAS DOING BECAUSE THAT\u2019S WHAT PEOPLE SAID, OH, THEY CAN JUST CLONE YOUR KEYS. WOLF TRIED TO DO ALL THE RIGHT THINGS. SHE NOW USES A CLUB ON THE STEERING WHEEL OF THE FAMILY\u2019S OTHER CAR. Wolf has made it her new routine to drive around neighborhoods, check open garages, and search parking lots. “I was like, did I park the car somewhere else? I look in garages that are open and lots too,” she said. The SUV was used by Wolf to rescue cats, and its theft has left her heartbroken. “It took me like two hours, and then I was like, I’m so sad. It’s like, how could they take my car?” she said. Wolf also learned from neighbors that another car had been stolen on her street a month ago. “I kind of wish somebody had said that,” she said.
