The 2026 Emmy nominations<\/a> have been revealed. <\/p>\n

HBO\u2019s emergency medical drama \u201cThe Pitt<\/a>\u201d was the top nominee with 25 total nominations. The premium cable network\u2019s intergenerational comedy comeback story, \u201cHacks<\/a>,\u201d meanwhile, earned 24 nominations. Other top nominees include Apple TV\u2019s freshman offerings \u201cWidow\u2019s Bay<\/a>\u201d and \u201cPluribus<\/a>,\u201d which nabbed a respective 19 and 18 nods a piece. <\/p>\n

With its 24 nominations, \u201cHacks\u201d set a new record for most nominations in a year by a comedy series. The previous record of 23 nods set by \u201cThe Bear\u201d in 2024 and matched by \u201cThe Studio<\/a>\u201d in 2025. <\/p>\n

\u201c[The nominees\u2019] creativity and talent remind us why television remains one of our most powerful art forms,\u201d Television Academy chair Cris Abrego<\/a> said in his introductory remarks Wednesday morning. \u201cWhile these nominations recognize individual achievement, they also celebrate the collaborative spirit that defines our industry. Every nomination today is a result of countless people coming together to create work that moves us, entertains us, and, above all, inspires us.<\/p>\n

Previous Emmy winners Liza Col\u00f3n-Zayas<\/a>, known for her role as no-nonsense chef Tina on FX\u2019s culinary dramedy \u201cThe Bear<\/a>,\u201d and Jeff Hiller<\/a>, the \u201cWidow\u2019s Bay<\/a>\u201d actor who also portrayed sweet and lovable best friend Joel on HBO\u2019s tender comfort-watch \u201cSomebody, Somewhere<\/a>,\u201d were on hand at the Television Academy\u2019s Wolf Theatre to joke about their nerves \u2014 and height difference \u2014 while presenting the nominations.<\/p>\n

The nominees for variety series and reality competition program were announced before the main nominations ceremony on NBC\u2019s \u201cToday\u201d show. <\/p>\n

The 78th Emmy Awards<\/a> will be held on Sept. 14 at 5 p.m. at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles. Hosted by \u201cLaw & Order: SVU\u201d star Mariska Hargitay<\/a>, the live telecast will air on NBC and stream on Peacock. The Creative Arts Emmy Awards, which honors artistic and technical achievements as well as some performance categories, will be held on Sept. 5 and 6.<\/p>\n
