\n\tThere was big news for the Fanning clan on Wednesday morning, with Dakota Fanning<\/a> nominated for her role in Peacock<\/a>\u2018s limited series All Her Fault<\/a> and Elle Fanning<\/a> nominated for Apple TV<\/a> comedy series Margo\u2019s Got Money Troubles.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019m so always thrilled for anything good that happens to her,\u201d Dakota told Deadline of her sister\u2019s nomination, adding that Elle was unavailable to chat due to being seated right behind Queen Camila Parker-Bowles at Wimbledon. Dakota said she asked her sister, \u201c\u2018Did you curtsy?\u2019 She was like, \u2018I tried. I did my best.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn All her Fault, Dakota stars as Jenny<\/a>, friend to Sarah Snook\u2019s character of Marissa, who is stunned when her son Milo suddenly disappears while on a supposed play date. Jake Lacy plays Marissa\u2019s husband Pete, Abby Elliott is his sister Lia and Michael Pe\u00f1a is Detective Jim Alcaras. Fanning is nominated in Supporting Actress, with Snook in Lead Actress. <\/p>\n

\n\tFanning spoke to Deadline during a break in shooting her upcoming untitled Apple TV series (more on that later) and said she\u2019d been trying to connect with the All her Fault team. \u201cI\u2019m working, so I\u2019m back and forth to my little dressing room, but I\u2019ve spoken to [EP and director] Minkie [Spiro] and I\u2019ve texted Sarah and Abby too, who I became very good friends with. It\u2019s just so wonderful for the series to be recognized.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Fanning sisters have teamed up for the first time to produce and star in the adaptation of Kristin Hannah\u2019s bestselling book The Nightingale<\/a> and Dakota reports that shooting has wrapped and they will shortly be diving into post-production.<\/p>\n

Working with Elle was as wonderful as I expected. And any nerves that we had were gone within minutes of being on set together in our first scene.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cit really was such an adventure,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd working with Elle was as wonderful as I expected. And it\u2019s just something we\u2019ll share forever.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAsked to recall a highlight from shooting the film, she said, \u201cThere\u2019s a lot of heavy themes that are unavoidable with the subject matter and so there are a lot of days that were difficult, but then there\u2019s some really beautiful sister moments that are very light. There\u2019s one particular scene and one particular shot of my sister and I, and it sort of encapsulated the whole process. Chung Hoon Chung was the DP and he was filming. It was really beautiful. I will remember that moment forever.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThings are also going great on the set of the new Apple TV thriller series from Alex Cary<\/a>, she said. Fanning serves as EP and stars as an undercover treasury agent \u2013 a role that\u2019s involved some challenges. \u201cI\u2019ve already been thrown into some scenarios that I had to learn how to do,\u201d she said. \u201cI won\u2019t spoil it, but yeah, I\u2019ve been thrown into some things that I\u2019m like, \u2018Oh s\u2013t. OK yeah, got to look natural doing that.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tStellan Skarsg\u00e5rd, Grace Gummer, Darly McCormack and Joely Richardson <\/a>also star in the series.<\/p>\n

\n\tFanning also has the new Joe Swanberg-directed film The Sun Never Sets<\/a><\/a>, which premiered at the SXSW Film & TV Festival and will release nationwide September 4th. She executive produces and stars alongside Jake Johnson and Cory Michael Smith in the love triangle story.<\/p>\n

\n\tShe said of the film: \u201cI think it is very personal and I think that I can relate to the character in a lot of ways. I think a lot of young people, young women, will see themselves in just the modern dating landscape of how complicated it is and how easy it is to become cynical and just lose your way. But I think that\u2019s the beauty of it \u2014 that it\u2019s a realistic approach and it\u2019s actually quite hopeful and just real. The people that I know that have seen it so far, friends of mine at the screening in Austin, were almost having to hide their eyes at a certain point, because they were like, \u2018It\u2019s too real. We\u2019ve been there.\u2019 So I think people can identify with a lot of things and it\u2019s also really funny and all of it wrapped into one film, all the emotions.\u201d<\/p>\n
