He\u2019s flush with cash.<\/p>\n

A NYCHA plumber who\u2019s one of New York City\u2019s highest-paid employees is in hot water after claiming he worked nearly 2,600 hours of overtime.<\/p>\n

Plumbing supervisor Jakub Markowski, 41, faces an investigation by the city more than a year after The Post exposed him as New York City government\u2019s biggest overtime hog<\/a>, clogging his bank account with a staggering $332,000 in extra pay during the 2025 fiscal year.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson said the city Department of Buildings opened a probe into Markowski \u2014 who drew a whopping $465,000 paycheck from the city \u2014 after receiving a complaint into his \u201cbusiness practices.\u201d<\/p>\n

Markowski, who lives in an upscale apartment building off the Rockaway Beach boardwalk, didn\u2019t return a request for comment. His wife Elizabeth Markwowska, 63, perhaps unsurprisingly, said he was working.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe works seven days a week,\u201d she told The Post from their home Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Markowski also ran two private businesses \u2013 Super Plumbers Corp. NYC and Dynamic Blue Water Mechanical \u2014 as he drew his stinks-to-high-heaven paycheck from the\u00a0\u00a0New York City Housing Authority,\u00a0state records show.<\/p>\n

In addition to the DOB investigation into Markowski\u2019s business practices, officials said they also conducted a sweep of active plumbing jobs in which he was the permit holder to make sure they were completed safely.<\/p>\n

The sweep found no violations, DOB officials said.<\/p>\n

Markowski ranks as the fifth-highest-paid city employee, according to records and the Empire Center watchdog.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Without his whopping \u00a02,558\u00a0hours of overtime logged, Markowski\u2019s gross regular pay during the 2025 fiscal year would have stood at a respectable $118,000.<\/p>\n

He would have had to work an average of seven extra hours a day for 365 days straight to draw his outsize paycheck, the New York Times reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

When The Post first uncovered Markowski\u2019s exorbitant pay, officials with NYCHA attributed his outsize overtime to \u201cextensive plumbing and heating demands that are mandated and monitored by law.\u201d<\/p>\n

NYCHA didn\u2019t comment further Wednesday.<\/p>\n

But questions over Markowski\u2019s taxpayer-paid overtime and dual private sector plumbing businesses prompted a complaint from the Plumbing Foundation of New York nonprofit trade group, according to the Times report.<\/p>\n

\u201cEnabling one individual to run a private plumbing business while serving as a city plumbing supervisor and accruing more overtime than any other city employee is beyond wasteful, and it raises serious concerns about the integrity, safety and oversight of NYCHA\u2019s building operations,\u201d April McIver, the group\u2019s executive director, told the Times.<\/p>\n

The city\u2019s Department of Investigation is scrutinizing Markowski, but wouldn\u2019t specify whether their probe is focused on his overtime, business or both.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is an ongoing matter at DOI and we decline further comment,\u201d a spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

A woman in the Maspeth building that houses both businesses said she didn\u2019t have any information. A small sign for Super Plumbers Corp. in the window listed Markowski\u2019s name inside.<\/p>\n

Markowski\u2019s wife, Markwowska, said he kept someone else in charge at his two plumbing businesses.<\/p>\n

She was unaware he was the city\u2019s highest-paid plumber, or what he did with his money.<\/p>\n
